Art Chain Game

Sequential Blockchain game for creative collaborative creation processes.

ArtChainGame is a gamified chain where the artists in a sequence create a “reaction artwork”s to one another.

The participants are not told who the artwork they received belongs to and the contextual background to it.

Blockchain & Art Chain Game

The chain concept of the Art Chain Games comes from Blockchain operation logic.

We can briefly define blockchain as the digital record of a set of transactions.

Each transaction record is called a "block", and sequential transactions form the block chain.

ArtChainGames, just like blockchains, saves (archives) the records for guidelines implemented by its contributors and the resulting artworks.

Art Chain Games can be similar to a computer programming language in the way that the output is reached with the application of formulated procedures.

Computer programs also define a set of rules for computers to get an output.

Art Chain Games are also similar to logic and mathematical operating systems; just as how logical algorithms work; Art Chain Games are also like methodologies that come to a conclusion after the application of a set of rules. In other words, Art Chain Games are similar in methodology to simplified and gamified versions of logical algorithms and programming language .

Inspiration:

Art Chain Game is inspired by the "Exquisite Corpse" drawing and collective collage technique that emerged in 1925.

AIM OF THE PROJECT

Each ArtChainGame has its own guidelines, and when participants follow the rules in order; They produce artworks around a common idea and take part in a bigger narrative.

The artworks that come out as a result of ArtChainGame become part of a common (collective) narrative. The chain aims to connect artists to one another by their artworks while conceptualizing the artworks in a collective meaningful narrative.

At the end of the project, we will have a sequential archive of all the artwork and create our final collective piece.

We will announce the project via social media for participation by sharing an artwork created by a participant before or by sharing a small piece of the artwork submitted to us.

Single artworks produced step by step throughout the project can only be shared after the project is completed.

Each game is inspired from a different topic. The theme of each game is different.

The first series of Art Chain Game represents an endless chain.

The first game of the series (N1) was inspired by the Exquisite Corpse movement, and its theme is from the pandemic period we are going through.
