Akalan is the founder and ceo of xtopia. A collective social dreaming hub working in collaboration with institutions, businesses and brands to deploy new visions and strategies at the intersection of creative industries and technology.

Akalan is Sonar Festival's Istanbul Edition technology curator for the past 7 years, founder of digilogue arts tech platform together with zorlu holding + zorlu performing arts center. sits in various jurys including creative capital, digital arts fund +

Raised in between Istanbul - Bursa, and studied around the world; she has a background in Design Management (Parsons school of design)& Business alongside masters in Contemporary Art and Philosophy. (Sotheyby's + european graduate school)
